Life Tenure
Stuart Taylor makes a very persuasive case that life tenure for judges is an anachronism from the time when people's minds outlasted their bodies.

I think the founders very much knew that life tenure during good behavior would be a long time. Having rapid or regular political appointments or greater accountability to congress or the people is exactly what they were trying to avoid. An extensive confirmation process for a role of this importance is not necessarily a bad thing.
