Eat me I'm a Danish
After 9/11, a common refrain in the United States was "We are all Israelis now." Meaning that we would not have to deal directly, domestically, and regularly with Muslim terrorists.
Since a Danish newspaper published some caricatures of Mohammed, the Muslim world has been aflame. Protesters in gaza are burning Danish flags, Saudi Arabia has recalled its ambassador, and Libya is closing its embassy.
The Danish are standing up to the pressure and now the French are joining them.
France Soir said it had published the cartoons to show that "religious dogma" had no place in a secular society.

Responding to France Soir's move, the French government said it supported press freedom - but added that beliefs and religions must be respected.

Under the headline "Yes, we have the right to caricature God", France Soir ran a front page cartoon of Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim and Christian gods floating on a cloud.It shows the Christian deity saying: "Don't complain, Muhammad, we've all been caricatured here."
The full set of Danish drawings, some of which depict the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist, were printed on the inside pages.
I periodically get into debates with some of my fellow bloggers here as to whether the Europeans will develop some spine before they are overrun by the combination of their welfare state and unassimilated radical Islam. Here we have some evidence that they will.

As a philosophical and geopolitical exercise, I will adopt the purist liberal, "progressive," Western point of view without mitigation. The attributes, which I, as a Western liberal, cherish, about my cultural context, include:
* Pluralism
* Sexual freedom
* Racial tolerance
* Non discrimination
* Feminism
* Cultural freedom
* Secular humanism
* Etc
Now, let us examine not only the Islamist objectives and creed, but also, the generic characteristics of each and every procrustean movement and Axis which have ever existed and likely will ever exist. Time and time again, each and every one of these has exhibited:
* Genocidal and mass destructive orientation
* Zero freedom
* Discrimination based on religion, race or other morays and folkways
* Anti humanist methodology
* Use of brute force for all matters
* No rule of law
* Behavior utterly antithetical to all generally accepted concepts of "progressive" thought
That Western liberals, Leftists, utopians and other "visionaries" fail to recognise the immense threat to their own mere existence posed by the rising tide of procrusteanism from the East is, to me, remarkable. Never before have the civilised quarters of the Earth witnessed such an example of mass psychotic suicidal tendencies.
That these European periodicals in question are finally beginning to apparently see the light is to me, one of the first truly encouraging signs in over forty years of observation of Western society. I pray that it will spread like wildfire before it is too late!
